Kicking off the next series of 4 track vinyl samplers from Toolroom is a record we are immensely proud to be releasing. Following the tragic news that legendary US vocalist Kathy Brown is battling stage four cancer, we wanted to give something back to an artist who we have all grown up musically with, and someone we hold in such deep regard. All profits will go to Kathy's 'GoFundMe' campaign to help pay for her medical bills, in a bid to get her back on the road to a full recovery. The record itself oozes fun and good times, which is what Kathy's music has always been about. Wh0, Mark Knight & James Hurr provide the backing, as Kathy's iconic vocal from 'Turn Me Out' effortlessly tears through. Next up, a long-term friend of Toolroom since the very early days and an absolute legend in the electronic scene, Shadow Child debuts on the label with 'Rising High'. His career under this alias spans a mighty 12 years, beginning back in 2012 with 'String Thing'; A record snapped up by Claude von Stroke's Dirytbird label that simply took the dance world by storm. From that point on, a steady stream of impactful releases have come out of his shadowy hiding place and unleashed themselves on dancefloors around the globe to devastating effect. 'Rising High' blends all of Shadow Child's passions – old skool rave, techno, and let's not forget that incredible vocal sample from 'The Beloved'. A modern House record with a nod to the past, that will appeal to DJs and radio folk alike! Our next cut is a super exciting collaboration between House music hero Low Steppa and Tony Romera, who is proving to be one of the most exciting prospects on the circuit. Low Steppa has had an incredible 2023 with sold out shows across the globe and releases on key labels such as Defected, Armada and his own Simma Black. Following his overall Beatport #1 last year, Tony has recently signed a 5 single deal to Toolroom and is a top priority for the label. He is quickly climbing the ranks with solid releases on Solotoko and Black Book and has a US tour with Crusy, another rising Toolroom talent, already locked in for Summer 2024. This record is a direct, straight up club track, with an infectious vocal that is picking up support from heavyweight DJs such as Dom Dolla, Dombresky and John Summit. Last but by no means least, Maur have joined the Toolroom ranks. This exciting duo have cemented themselves as one of the most exciting new dance acts to emerge from the UK in recent years. They have already collaborated with the elite of the scene, including Solardo, Goodboys and most recently Becky Hill with her brand new single 'Never Be Alone'. Last year alone they racked up almost 30 million streams across the major platforms and graced the decks of the legendary Tomorrowland festival last summer. Maintaining an incredible melody and signature synth sound, 'Disco Tool' is another floor weapon to add to Maur's ever-growing arsenal!
