To kick off our VA series, we're pleased to present Frequencies Vol. 1. Six brilliant artists spanning a variety of moods and dancefloor energies.

Belgian duo A.G. & Kompo have delivered a large helping of minimal, driving techno for the A1, with tech house elements and progressive synths scattered throughout. The welcome return of David Agrella to Seven Hills sees him develop the late-morning vibe entitled Amfexa, using a groovy bassline, classy pads and expertly organic drum programming.

On the B side, Hamburg's Rupert Marnie and our beloved Dutch friends Young Adults add a darker shade to this release. Parapsychic is a bubbling meditation; very minimal, which allows the alien drums and bass to cut through the mix with force. Closing out the record is Exothermic, an almost infernal, monstrous slice of deep tech house.

Plenty of texture, a springy rubber kick, and a hypnotic, moaning vocal that sounds like it's plucked from the underworld. [info sheet from distribution]
