Drumcode returns with its flagship A-Sides series, spearheaded by a new Adam Beyer single that stands out in the 20-track compilation.
If you want a snapshot of techno in any given year, look no further than Drumcode's annual A-Sides compilation. The release tracks the evolution of the genre while also providing a platform for the most exciting demos Adam Beyer has received throughout the year, with many emerging artists finding their music on Drumcode for the first time. Examples include Wehbba, Charles D, and Raxon, who debuted on the label with a track from the A-Sides series and then became regular collaborators on Beyer's influential labels.
This year's compilation features an exciting mix of established names and a host of new talent ready to make their mark on the genre. "We Don't Say Please" is emblematic of Adam Beyer's sound in 2025: fresh, experimental, and flourishing thanks to the contamination between genres, with elements of bass music, rap, and techno merging, all supported by a distinctive British vocal. The result is inspiring.
Other tracks on the 20-track compilation are packed with highlights. HI-LO's "NYC to Amsterdam" features shades of New York house fused with driving techno elements. Nicole Moudaber returns to DC in collaboration with emerging artist ZLATA for the energetic "Report to the Dancefloor." Oscar L and Charles D forge a new collaboration with the hypnotic and spacious "Lift Me Up." LUSU continues his highly successful run after the recent "Move 2 the Groove" EP and creates a truly mind-blowing single, "LIKE THIS." Mark Reeve is in great form with the hypnotic "My Mind," which comes to life with a massive synthesizer. The fantastic Kaufmann shares her "People are Strange," a tribute to a rock classic, recontextualized for a modern techno audience.
As per tradition, a host of emerging producers land on Drumcode for the first time. These include Uruguayan Enzo Monza, who offers the crisp "Late Night" – a Beyer favorite; Mattia Saviola, with his "Parallel Dimension," a powerful track with fantastic sound design; Romanian artist Tao Andra, who shares the celestial "Unity"; and industry veteran AdamK, making a well-deserved Drumcode debut in collaboration with Vikthor feat. MC Stretch in the extraordinary "Silence + The Sound."
