Continuing his quest for emotional club music, "Soft Glow, Fierce Light" seems to have an apt name indeed. Shimmering melodies, swinging rhythms, and a reassuring atmosphere, Phara shows that his evolving musical personality and his relationship with the Brussels-based club are meant to last.

Starting with "Unfold", the Belgian gets the ball rolling with a warm introduction. Recalling his recent venture as In Glass, a balance is found between the slower dub techno of his secondary alias and the more intense club energy he is known for bringing with him as Phara. A steady start, then the filters open midway through the track to ensure maximum euphoria on and off the dance floor. "Flow" follows suit, and here the producer keeps the level constant and taut with intricate melodic design. A steady groove with blooming synth lines makes "Flow" a beauty to behold. Warm chord stabs make the EP nostalgic and demonstrate once again that the seasoned producer often likes to prioritize emotion over drive. Flipping the record, "Wave to Wave" points the finger at all things dub, even a decent appreciation for house music, through the harmony of its keyboards to the sound design of its square bass and its common boundaries with techno. Juggling snares and rides, Phara sets the tone with a soothing piece for lovers of the genre with their eyes closed. To conclude, "Solitude" gives a refined vintage effect to the project introduced by "Wave to Wave", this time with increased intensity worthy of a set finale. Incisive hits make this track particularly extroverted, suitable for almost any record case, suitable for Room 01 or the Motion Room.
