We're at the fifth instalment of The Secret Sun series, and we're thrilled to have another legendary producer take the reins.
Miki "The Dolphin" needs no introduction: alongside Francesco Farfa and Roby J, he is one of the pioneers of the Italian progressive scene, formed in the early '90s in Tuscany and spread throughout Italy and beyond. Recognised worldwide for his productions on Interactive Test and his Major Hypnotic Key Institute, Miki has forged a solid vinyl discography that is still in high demand in the second-hand market today, with collectors paying exorbitant amounts to get their hands on the few available copies. His intense DJing activity over the past 30 years has also drawn attention to his experimental analogue works: initially made in Florence in collaboration with Franco Falsini and his Interactive Test, and subsequently, until the first half of the 2000s, in Ferrara, in the recording studios of Adrogimus Recordings Mulino, where the concepts of the Major Hypnotic Key Institute were further developed through long studio sessions, both alone and with renowned musicians.
As is now our modus operandi here at OCD/SS headquarters, we gained access to Miki's personal DAT archives to unearth the material; we are now bringing two unreleased gems to the light of our sun: "Anse Takamaka," created together with the late jazz bassist Bruno Corticelli, and "Shamballa." To close out the EP, we are re-releasing "Art Of Libido," a highly sought-after track previously released on Interactive Test.
