With a catalogue spanning several decades, Bearface, aka Raj Panasa, shows no sign of slowing down. Over the years he has built a strong reputation through his distinctive and innovative touch, whether through his own Beartone Records or the numerous other labels he has shared his classy sound with.
"Remakes and Raw Cuts Vol. 1" is the launch of a new vinyl series from the London-based producer, a safe haven to showcase his eclectic sound, along with edits and remakes of some of his favourite tracks over the years, all released on his own Beartone imprint.
Kicking off the A-side, Bearface delivers a Latin, funk-fuelled explosion with his rendition of the classic "Tudo Que Você Podia Ser", a bold disco attitude ready for the summer months, delivering unforgivable floor mania. A2's "Got To Be" is an original track, meandering through playful guitar riffs and essential, hypnotic percussion, creating a curious atmosphere as the track continues to ferment.
Over on the flip, an edit by the revered beatmaker. First, he edits Jermaine Jackson's "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin'", the infectious vocal instils lively vitality over a deadly electro groove, a playful and lively trip ready to ignite the floor! Closing out the EP is the retro-sounding "Everything", with the robotic vocal alternating between glitches and shots, winking at Daft Punk, boasting beautiful strings and crunchy hi-hats that give it that daytime energy.
