Already riding high in the Beatport charts with the success of Uto Karem and Robosonic's mixes of Eddie Amador's House Music – the latter in the absolute top 5 this past month – the label now plans a double whammy with the follow up: Alcatraz’s seminal, Giv Me Luv.

“We deliberated for a long time about how to schedule this for the 20th anniversary project” says label head Sharam “there's no point in putting out one big hit and then flopping, so we deliberately chose Alcatraz for this difficult task”.

But the challenge didn’t end there; a huge record still deserves a huge remix and I think it’s safe to say we found the perfect woman for that job… Step forward the undisputed queen of techno Nicole Moudaber who jumped at the chance to remix the track.

“I have so many fond memories of Giv Me Luv, it was one of my favourite tracks from my early clubbing days” Nicole happily recalls “so when Yoshi approached me to remix it, I just couldn’t say no”.

“In fact, I knew Alcatraz so well that I was already bursting with ideas about what I could, or should, do with it.”

“As I delved into the mix, one of those ideas grew bigger and bigger, that was for a long breakdown that constantly built; layering the memorable vocal over an intense finale and a (hopefully) moment of proper dancefloor drama.” Nicole’s humble description doesn’t do justice to the final result which is a masterful, modern take on the classic. Its iconic techno beats, dark twisted stabs and arrangement of that bassline lead towards the aforementioned break, which undoubtedly rivals the fireworks display of any upcoming New Year's Eve party.

Indeed expect this track to be THE soundtrack to many a dancefloor in the run up to the all important hand over to 2015. And, if that wasn't enough, Yoshi have also secured the skills of Trent Cantrelle to provide the perfect deep house counterpoint to Nicole's techno ferocity, as Sharam concludes: “We wanted a proper piece of contemporary funk from the accompanying mix.”

“Yoshi is all about exploring the boundary between deep house and techno, perhaps never more so than during its formative years, so this remix completes the package perfectly.”
