New big release for Peter Van Hoesen! Continuing his exploration of intricate techno systems, their effects, and the direct perimeter of action, Peter van Hoesen presents his latest four-track work, "Prime Directive": a fascinating dive into the artist's shifting mental space and his inner creative chaos. Fueled by an incandescent mix of abstract immersion and high-octane rhythmic drive, Prime Directive looks at contemporary techno from the perspective of experimentation and intuitive abandonment. The result unfolds in four distinct movements, each carving out its own logic and associated behavior within an endless pool of potentiality. Here, caology unfolds in all its pure and visceral glory. "Definition by Absence" breaks the journey into sound of a falsely random symphony: its train-like swing and fiery bass sway merge into a kind of elliptical, iterative and non-iterative fluttering, patterns that move in and out of sync as van Hoesen applies more or less pressure on both ends. In a gusty, brazen atmosphere, "Variables Edit 1" swirls and churns like a menacing revenge of nature; its piercing kicks and hissing threat contrast with stellar winds and raging machinery in search of the next victim. An even more unsettling, disarticulated, and arrhythmic track, anti-club music for the dance floor, "Prime Directive" will make you lose your senses as if in a bad dream, amidst metronome-faced monsters and melted clocks hanging from dead trees. "Morphology" might be PVH's attempt to give his concepts a carnal carcass to cling to. Here, the rhythm becomes a little less erratic, offering his 360-degree vision a wider melodic surface and real space for dispersion. A record that pushes boundaries beyond all limits and challenges the status quo, techno in its boldest and most daring form. *This new epic four-track album by Peter van Hoesen is wrapped in refined artwork courtesy of Atact and pressed to our standards in audiophile 180g quality, so you can experience the Belgian master's chiseled sound design in all its glory.
