DC4 Vol. 1
12"
genre: TECHNO
label: Drumcode Cat.No: DC333
Drumcode launches a new V/A series, “DC4”, inspired by its popular A-Sides compilations. “DC4” showcases a quartet of infallible talents from the label’s extended family of artists. The EP features two Drumcode mainstays, Timmo and Mark Reeve, while enriching the techno side of Kaufmann and Goom Gum (in collaboration with up-and-coming London artists RDNK) after their recent debut on Truesoul. Kaufmann’s curiously titled track, “Broncho’s Sandman” kicks things off, a hard-hitting dancefloor track characterized by a captivating vocal line, with one foot in techno and the other in progressive. Timmo continues last year’s accurate contribution to A-Sides Vol.13, with a brightly colored techno track overflowing with personality, as any track titled “Miami Vice” should! The Bulgarian producer dedicated many hours to creating the track, which boasts unearthly celestial energy. Four years have passed since Mark Reeve’s last contribution to Drumcode, with the excellent mini-album “Breathe”. The British producer from Frankfurt returns punctually with the compelling “Stop, Go”, which blends elements of techno, hard trance, and pop for an inspired five-minute dancefloor session. Goom Gum and RDNK collaborate for the first time with “It’s Time To Get High”. The track starts as an incisive melodic cut before transforming into a psychedelic trip in the second half. A track that cannot be missed at an outdoor party. [distribution information sheet]
