Dom Dolla makes a triumphant return with Take It, a deep, dark, and driving club mix that combines an evocatively catchy vocal with a deep, grooving rhythm to create an earworm production. Following an ARIA 2017 nomination for best dance release for the enormous Torren Foot collaboration on ‘Be Randy’, Dom has been busy touring the world, brooding in the dark corners of clubs, perfecting Take It, right down to tech-house perfection.
"I laid down the foundations of this track in a hotel room on a road trip between gigs in Arizona earlier this year, feeling deeply inspired by the West Coast club crowds I was performing for. The vocal was written and recorded whilst I was sick in bed, using my tour manager's iPhone headphone microphone and a doona as a vocal booth. I had planned at the time to replace my scratch recording with a cleaner version once back in Australia but I could never recreate anything I liked as much so I kept it! It’s been a weapon for me ever since" said Dom Dolla explaining the origins of Take It.
Having racked up over 20 million streams and consecutive #1 spots on the ARIA Club Chart for both 'You' and 'Define', his 2016 collaboration with Go Freek, it becomes obvious that perfection is a constant for Dom Dolla. Moreover, this explains why Dom has been tapped for official remixes by the likes of RUFUS DU SOL, Flight Facilities, Peking Duk, Madison Avenue, Motez and Sneaky Sound System and his festival appearances at Beyond The Valley (closing out the festival for 4 years running), Splendour In The Grass, EDC Las Vegas and Splash House Palm Springs.
With Chris Lake, Kyle Watson, and Billy Kenny already on board, Take It is sure to pick up solid support from the big guns. This goes without saying given Pete Tong is your biggest advocate, spinning a string of Dom Dolla releases on BBC Radio 1. A guest mix on All Gone Pete Tong and hand-picked to support Pete Tong’s massive Ibiza Classics orchestral show at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne.
Having been tried and tested, this track is 100% guaranteed to rip your heart out and ‘Take It’ straight to the darkest dancefloor around. Australia, hold tight for tour announcement very soon, otherwise you can catch Dom on the dancefloors [info from label]
