Years of brewing mutual admiration between Turbo and Architectural finally explode with Good Night, Whatever That Is, the Asturian producer’s debut release for the label.
Nothing thrills us more than the prospect of hosting a true artist on Turbo. In fact, we’re so thrilled to be working with techno genius Architectural that we even eliminated ‘fun-house’ producer Archie Textures from our roster to avoid confusion.
The Good Night, Whatever That Is EP infuses the timeless platonic forms of techno with an energy, skill and depth that will be instantly familiar to anyone who has built a cathedral with their bare hands. And yet, the raw power of lead single ‘Steampunk’ and the even-less-adulterated ‘Tubular Funk’ confirms that this release also has one foot firmly planted on the secular dancefloor, imbued with the searing biological fluids that drive and torment all sexual beings. Meanwhile, your deep human need for contrast will be sated by the IDM-ambient euphoria of ‘Eternity Land’ and the intellectual breaks of ‘Rousing Rhythms’.
In an attempt to introduce this work to as many thought-starved minds as possible, we will be randomly concealing 10,000 CD-R copies of the EP in Drakkar Noir energy drink bottles at participating supermarkets across America and Eurasia. It is our hope that this will mark the moment many of you finally become open to instruction, fully accepting that finding razor-like CD-R shards lodged in your throat is simply the price of admission to the Idea Man’s Ball.
