Musique de Niche Vol. 1 barked for a Vol. 2. The second chapter of any relevant trilogy (did I just spoil a Vol. 3?) always suffers the toughest trial by fire: but the boys, Pierre Marty & Admo, once again delivered those flavors you didn't know your collection was missing.
Same city, different district and new inspirations: after their Liveset world premiere in Berlin, they went back to the studio, refining the final details of this new E.P and giving it a new twist, while still echoing the first volume.
Tech-house yes, but is it really?
The indecision seems we could have said maybe yes but no but…
Well: Alpyren achieved the rather impressive feat of impressing this feeling on a record: this is A1. The haunting vocal sample is this sassy inner you trying to tell you what's up. At least, you're not alone: the quirky bleeps and punchy bassline are there to lend you a hand in making that surely wrong decision.
Flipping the record or your USB stick, you arrive at the two tracks where they let their new inspirations reach the speakers.
B1 came out before GTA VI, but it could have been on the soundtrack if the game actually took place between Los Santos and Marseille.
G-funk with the Alpyren touch: for the floor, a track that will make you sway. Broken beats, almost broken legs.
B2 is the most quirky of the bunch: it starts with the duo's gloomy sound signature, but we're back with more 80's inspirations.
Darker synth pop with an added twist: you end up following the kick with your head swaying in sync, while all the special effects add an extra spice to the track. It’s 5 p.m here at Ordinateuf’s HQ and we’ve just finished listening to the final masters of Alpyren’s new E.P “Musique de Niche vol. 2”.
